There are some dangerous intersections out there and there's one road you might want to avoid in the future.
According to the latest numbers collected by law enforcement officials between May 2013 and May 2014, the intersection of Cortez and Mariner Boulevards is the most dangerous in Hernando County with 96 crashes in a year. That includes minor and major car accidents.
The second most dangerous intersection is right down the road, at Mariner Boulevard and Spring Hill Drive with 82 crashes in a year. Lisa Hayn knows the intersections well and is always on the lookout.
"I am a safe driver," Hayn said. "My mom taught me that I have to watch out for everybody else out there."
The third most dangerous spot is also on Mariner Boulevard at the intersection of Northcliffe Boulevard with 71 crashes in a year.
Tammy Vazquez uses Mariner Boulevard all the time to get around. She says she keeps her guard up.
"Stay very cautious," Vazquez said. "We do stay very cautious."
Law enforcement officials say they are aware of these intersections and they are keeping a close eye on things but it's up to drivers to stay safe.
"Everybody just needs to slow down and take their time I think," Hayn said.
The intersections of U.S. 19 and Spring Hill Drive and Forest Oaks Boulevard and U.S. 19 are also high on the list.
