A motorcyclist was seriously injured on Sunday evening in a crash on St. Pete Beach.
According to reports, 54-year-old James Garbee, of Kenneth City, was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle west on 75th Avenue approaching Blind Pass Road. At the same time, Lina De Capvalho, driving a 2014 Chevy Cruz was stopped in the left turn, though partially in the intersection, lane of east 75th Avenue, waiting for traffic to clear to turn on Blind Pass Road.
As Garbee entered the intersection, De Capvalho made a left turn trying to clear the intersection due to the light turning yellow.
Garbee was transported to Bayfront Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Both the driver and the passenger in the Chevy were not injured.
Alcohol and drug impairment are not factors in the crash.
