Bright House Networks customers in Tampa Bay will soon have more choices and more speed when it comes to Internet packages.
Beginning in January, high speed data customers will get increased speeds in their Lightning service packages:
- 35 Mbps x 2 Mbps will go to 50 Mbps x 5 Mbps
- 75 Mbps x 5 Mbps will go to 100 Mbps x 10 Mbps
- 150 Mbps x 10 Mbps will go to 200 Mbps x 15 Mbps
- 300 Mbps x 15 Mbps will increase upload speed to 20 Mbps
These new speeds will make it easier for customers to watch streaming services such as Amazon and Netflix, and will improve the quality of gaming, personal cloud services and more.
These changes will take place automatically and will not require customers to order new service. There are no additional fees for the new packages. Customers should just reboot their modems in January to get the faster speeds.
The Bright House Networks HSD packages also include free email, access to more than 52,000 Wi-Fi hotspots around Tampa Bay, parental controls and 24-hour customer support.

Correction: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that current 15 Mbps x 1 Mbps customers will be raised to 25 Mbps x 3 Mbps speeds in January. The 25Mbps x 3Mbps speed is a new service that will be available to customers in January.
