Bright House Networks has joined the Orlando City Soccer Club's community of Founding Partners as the official telecommunications provider for the team's new stadium, set to open in 2016.
Fans at the new downtown Orlando stadium will enjoy high-capacity Wi-Fi and dedicated Internet for sending and receiving videos, pictures and surfing the Web at the game.
Suites and common areas of the soccer stadium will feature high-definition, fiber-based video services, and stadium personnel will utilize Bright House Networks' cloud-based hosted voice service for critical voice communication.
"As a major sponsor and supporter of sports in the communities we serve, we are excited as soccer fans to be Orlando City Soccer Club's official cable, Internet, phone and home security partner," said Craig Cowden, Bright House's chief network officer and senior vice president enterprise solutions. "Bright House Networks products and services will enable every fan to share their experiences each time the Lions compete in their new stadium."
Bright House is the sixth-largest owner and operator of cable systems in the U.S. and the second largest in Florida.
"Bright House Networks shares our same vision of providing the best services and hospitable experiences to our supporters respectively," said Orlando City SC founder and president Phil Rawlins. "Through this partnership, we will allow our supporters to stay connected at our stadium and enjoy interacting with each other during games."
Bright House Networks is the parent company of News 13 and Bright House Sports Network.
