Getting ready for a Carnival Cruise next month? Leave the bottled water or soda behind.
Carnival announced a new drinks policy for guests, which will start July 9.
Guests will no longer be allowed to bring bottled drinks. The goal is to cut down on the number of people trying to sneak alcohol in bottles onboard.
Guests will be allowed to bring a maximum of 12 unopened 12-ounce cans or cartons per person, for drinks like soda, juice, milk or sparkling water. It becomes part of carry-on luggage.
Carnival will also continue to allow people to bring one unopened, 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne per person in carry-on luggage. No other alcohol is allowed on board.
Distilled water is still allowed for people who need it for a CPAP machine or for a baby. Guests can buy 12-packs of bottled water from Carnival. A 12-pack is $2.99 plus tax if you buy it before the cruise, or $4.99 plus tax during the cruise.
