Hundreds of Seminole Heights residents marched the streets by candlelight Sunday night, defiant in the fact the random killer remains on the loose.
- Residents held vigil for murder victims
- Three people were killed in separate attacks
- Tampa mayor said police are out in full force
They marched to honor the three people who have been killed in separate attacks in the last two weeks.
Anthony Naiboa, Benjamin Mitchell and Monica Hoffa were all gunned down in separate incidents and no one knows why.
Naiboa’s stepmother Maria Rodriguez joined the marchers.
“Let's show them that we're not afraid and that we own these streets,” she said. “I want everybody to say it together, ‘We own these streets! We own this community!’”
Volunteer Guardian Angels joined in the community effort, escorting residents who feel unsafe walking alone at night.
Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn said police are out in force until their job is done.
“We’re going to get this guy,” said Buckhorn. “We’re gonna get him. We just don’t know how long it takes, but we’re going to get him and we’re not leaving until we do.”
