In its earnings call Tuesday, Disney announced the opening date of Pandora-The World of Avatar at Walt Disney World.

Pandora will open May 27, officials said.

The new land at Animal Kingdom will have two main attractions: Na’vi River Journey, a family-friendly river ride through a bioluminescent rainforest, and the Avatar Flight of Passage, a ride on a banshee over the world of Pandora.

Guests can also eat at the Satu'li Canteen, or grab a drink at Pongu Pongu.

Disney Chairman and CEO Robert Iger described Pandor for investors Tuesday as a big land, the biggest expansion at Walt Disney World in a while, and an attraction unlike any Disney has ever built.

"We believe interest in Avatar will grow," said Iger. "We can't quantify but we think it has great potential" especially once the upcoming sequels hit the market.

Iger also said Pandora was the last piece to make Animal Kingdom a full day park. Another piece is the long-awaited Rivers of Light show. Disney Social Media Moms got a special preview of Rivers of Light Tuesday night.

Universal has set May 25 as the opening date for its first water park, Volcano Bay.

On the earnings call, officials also said that the new Star Wars land would open sometime in 2019.
