The Pet Resource center — Hillsborough's only open-admission shelter--says the dog kennels are at more than 99 percent at capacity.
The shelter has more than 250 dogs available for adoption with many ready-to-go, which means the dog can be adopted and taken home the same day for only $20.
The shelter said all pets adopted are vaccinated, microchipped, registered, and have been spayed or neutered.
The Pet Resource Center accepts all dogs and cats regardless of size, age, breed, or medical condition. The shelter is open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
