A fatal crash on I-75 in Sarasota shut down all northbound lanes early Saturday morning. 

Two vehicles involved in the crash were fully engulfed in flames. Deputies said they believe the crash occurred due to a wrong-way driver. 

The crash occurred near MM 211 around 4:30 a.m. The northbound lanes opened back up around 9 a.m. 

Deputies said it appears to be a double fatality. 

No one else was injured in the crash, however, two deputies were treated for smoke inhalation as a precaution. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
