PASCO COUNTY, Fla. -- A report from the medical examiner's office says angioedema -- or swelling of skin -- was the cause of death for a woman who died when a shuttle vessel caught fire.
Carrie Dempsey, 42, died in the Jan. 14 incident in New Port Richey.
The fire broke out on the SunCruz Port Richey Casino shuttle. About 50 passengers were on the shuttle at the time of the fire, and several were injured.
The vessel was taking people to a casino boat in the Gulf off the Pasco County coast.
The report says the angioedema was due to "environmental exposure with inhalation of products of combustion."
Dempsey and others were foced to jump off the boat.
