HOLMES BEACH, Fla. -- An arrest has been made in a Holmes Beach home invasion that left a 71-year-old woman badly beaten.
- Arrest made in last week's home invasion
- Woman, 71, robbed, beaten in her home on 75th Street
- Surveillance video of suspect and vehicle aided in arrest
According to the Holmes Beach Police Department, the man responsible is Mark Snyder. A key break in the case came via a security camera on a neighboring home that captured the suspect's car and image outside the home on 75th Street.
Police Chief Bill Tokajer said Snyder's grey Nissan Maxima can be seen on surveillance video pulling up to the home. A man walks to the home and about 20 minutes later, he can be seen leaving carrying four duffle bags of stolen items.
Tokajer said the home invasion happened last Thursday around 1 p.m.
Tokajer said the Thursday afternoon break-in and assault left the woman bleeding heavily from her head and face and required hospitalization. She has since been released.
Tokajer said Snyder has confessed to the break-in and attack.
