TAMPA, Fla. — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of the woman whose body was found behind a Tampa house Thursday evening.

  • Neighbor discovered body, called 911
  • Victim suffered upper body trauma
  • Woman identified as Katrina Lynn Burlingame, 32

According to the Sheriff's Office, the body of Katrina Lynn Burlingame, 32, was found behind a house located in the 7600 block of South 32nd Avenue. Deputies said a neighbor found the body and called 911.

Investigators said she suffered upper body trauma.

That was all the Sheriff's Office had to go on so far.

"We're going to try and locate witnesses, interview them," said Sheriff's Office Colonel Jim Bradford. "We are appealing to the public for any information they might have regarding this situation, and that way we can move on with our investigation."

Investigators did say it appeared Burlingame had not been dead for very long when she was found, which may make gathering forensic evidence easier.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
