Sunwest Park in Hudson sits on what used to be a limestone mine.

Pasco County has stepped in to make improvements to the park.

The county took over control and maintenance of the property from The Lift Adventure Park. It hopes to fix up the beach front and make Sunwest a destination.

"If anything, it's affected us in a good way," said Jacob Murray of The Lift Adventure Park. "The county is doing a really good job there, working really hard to upgrade the park better just all around."

With dozens of volleyball courts and a ton of space, Pasco County is looking to bring things like tournaments and even some commercial development to Sunwest.
