Charisse Stinson is behind bars, charged with first degree murder, but she was pregnant when police arrested her back in September. We’ve learned Stinson gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday and was back behind bars before Christmas.
Very little is known about what’s next for that baby girl she delivered.
Officials with the Sheriff’s office said that because of her pregnancy, Stinson often left the jail with an armed guard to go to doctor’s appointments. Stinson reportedly left under guard again Friday and was right back in jail two days later.
Jail officials said 48-hours is the standard time mothers who are incarcerated leave for when they give birth. Stinson reportedly remains in the jail’s medical unit.
Court records show Jordan Belliveau Sr. filed a petition for paternity on Christmas Eve, two days after Stinson reportedly gave birth. He’s the father of their slain two-year old son, who Stinson is accused of killing and dumping his body in a wooded area near the Largo Sports Complex.
Both parents lost custody of Jordan. There are hundreds of pages documenting what child services called "dangerous conditions" in the couple's home, but they eventually regained custody.
Officials aren’t releasing any information about the new baby. Stinson’s sister said and she thinks the baby should stay in their family.
After a hearing last week, the grandmother of Jordan Belliveau said she intends to try and get custody of the newborn baby.
Stinson is due back in court for a pretrial hearing February 4.
