A 13-year-old boy has been hospitalized in Polk County after claiming he wanted to be the next school shooter.
- Polk deputies: Boy, 13, says he wanted to be next school shooter
- Boy was expelled from Westside K-8 School in Osceola County last week
- Boy said he 'wanted to kill a lot of kids' after being expelled
Deputies said they found the boy passed out on a Polk sidewalk this week.
According to deputies, the boy told authorities he drank an entire bottle of liquor that he stole from his parents and also took a handful of what he called "happy pills."
Deputies said the teen, who attended Westside K-8 School in Osceola County, told them he "wanted to kill a lot of kids" in retaliation for being expelled last month.
Polk Sheriff Grady Judd said he hopes the boy gets the help he needs.
"We cannot allow anyone of any age to get away with criminal threats to kill, especially when they are aimed toward school children," Judd said.
This marks the second time the teen has been hospitalized, officials said.
The first time was after Osceola County deputies arrested him for threatening to kill specific classmates after the shootings in Parkland.
