CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. — A cat was rescued and revived after a mobile home fire in Citrus County.
- Fire occurred on North Shady Fork Way
- Resident escaped fire; crews went inside to rescue cat
- About $15,000 worth of damage reported
The fire happened Wednesday afternoon in the 8300 block of North Shady Fork Way.
Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the home and quickly brought it under control.
A resident inside the home escaped, but firefighters learned that a cat was still inside.
The feline was located, brought outside the home and placed on high-flow oxygen.
The State Fire Marshal is assisting in the investigation, and the Red Cross will assist the resident.
About $10,000 worth of damage was done to the home, with about $5,000 worth of damage done to contents inside.
