CLEARWATER, Fla. — A local Clearwater fisherwoman will be featured on national television Wednesday, January 23, alongside fisherman Jimmy Houston.

Misty Wells, a Clearwater native who believes in creating a strong bond with children and the great outdoors, will be featured on the Jimmy Houston Outdoors show.
Wells has turned her passion into a profession, becoming an outdoor adventure and travel writer, television personality, and radio host of "Let's Take it Outside." Wells is also the co-founder of A Reel Future, a charitable organization dedicated to taking foster children fishing.
The organization has taken over 2,000 foster kids fishing since it began. Wells believes in educating women on how to develop better relationships with their children and provide wholesome family experiences through affordable outdoor adventures.
The episode, "Clearwater Off Shore" showcases Wells and Houston catching grouper and other species in the Gulf of Mexico.
It will premiere on the Worldwide Fishing Network and air on Discovery Channel, CBS Sports and the Pursuit Channel. According to the City of Clearwater, a public watch party will be held at Shephard's Beach Resort on Clearwater Beach at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A special viewing of the episode will be shown at 6:30 p.m.
Jimmy Houston, commonly known as America's Favorite Fisherman, has been a staple of national outdoor fishing shows for over forty years. Houston has also been inducted into the Legends of the Outdoors Hall of Fame and the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame.
His show, Jimmy Houston Outdoors, which debuted in 1976, is considered one of the most popular outdoor television programs.
