HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Hillsborough County Schools are on a mission to get migrant families more involved in the education system.

The school district is working to empower migrant parents through its 'Parent School Partnership Program.'

Parents take a 12-week course, all in Spanish, that gets them more familiarized with the American school system.  As part of the course, families got to tour the University of South Florida and learn more about the admissions process.

The USF tour marks the half-way point of the 12-week course, which ends in April.

After the course, parents will be able to voice their concerns and suggestions at the next school board meeting.
