HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a single-family house fire Wednesday morning where they found a menagerie of pets inside.

Of those pets, crews were able to rescue three out of seven dogs, four out of six cats, and a pot belly pig.  Two of three dogs rescued were brought back via CPR and an oxygen pet mask.

Crews also said a cockatoo and a rabbit died in the fire.

The homeowners were not home at the time, officials said.

Crews said flames were shooting through the roof of the home located on Holly Lake Place in Lutz.  Tanker trucks were used for water to fight the fire due to the rural area.

Hillsborough crews also received help from Pasco County Fire Rescue.
