AUBURNDALE, Fla. — A motorcyclist died Friday evening after he was involved in a crash with another vehicle at an intersection in Auburndale, according to Auburndale Police.

Investigators said around 8:14 p.m. officers were called to the scene of the crash near the intersection of Havendale Boulevard and Derby Avenue. Upon arrival they found Joshua Lee Perry, 29, critically injured due to the crash. 

Perry died at the scene.

Investigators learned that Perry was riding westbound on Havendale Boulevard at an apparent high rate of speed. Multiple witnesses interviewed at the scene said he was changing lanes and passing other vehicles west of Derby Avenue prior to the crash.

Meanwhile, another vehicle driving east on Havendale entered the intersection and turned left in order to enter a parking lot. The vehicle turned into the path of Perry, who then collided with the car's passenger side.
