ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Here's your Tampa Bay area weather forecast for late Monday into Tuesday morning, along with a preview of conditions through the work week.

The front that came through gave us cooler temperatures, as predicted. It’s not cold, but it’s definitely cooler than it was last week.

The front stalled and now a weak area of low pressure will develop in the Gulf of Mexico and move in our direction. That is already resulting in clouds increasing.

Expect skies to go mostly cloudy headed into Tuesday morning. Lows will be in the 50s to low 60s.

The showers will be on and off through the day, with a gradual decrease going into the evening.

Wednesday will feature the actual low pressure finally passing through, so expect another slug of moisture with rain showers that day. The timing of rain is still in question, depending on when that low pressure passes by.

Either way, with the cloud cover again it will hold our highs in the low to mid 70s.

That low pressure will move out to the east, leaving us with drier conditions for Thursday into Friday. That will also allow our temperatures to rebound back into the upper 70s to near 80. It won’t be as warm as last week, but it will be warmer than now.
