CEO Tory Bruno is on a two-day tour of the engineering school that dates back to the beginning of the space age, meeting students who might one day punch a timecard for the commercial space company.
Bruno walked the work area of the campus's Harris Design Center, where the senior engineering students get hands-on experience in training, manufacturing, and space to work on their projects.
"What they are doing right now, with the projects we are sponsoring, that will probably just flow right forward into our infrastructure," Bruno told Spectrum News. "It's a pipeline for people to join our team."
"Meeting him and working with the engineers at ULA is an amazing opportunity to advance our careers," said senior aerospace engineering student Ryan Piersa, who is currently working on a ULA launch pad project.
Bruno also gave a lecture on ULA's role in the budding commercial space program.
He also touched on the upcoming August Atlas V launch that involves a crewed Boeing Starliner capsule on a test flight to the International Space Station.
