LAKELAND, Fla. — A fire at a Lakeland apartment complex Monday left all the residents in a particular building within the complex permanently displaced, according to the Lakeland Fire Department.

Officials said the fire started in the attic of the affected building at Arbor Glen apartments in north Lakeland. All 24 affected apartment units in that building were evacuated, and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters fought the fire well into the evening. By 9:19 p.m. the agency reported on their Twitter account that the fire was contained, and firefighters were still inside the structure, searching for pets.

No cause for the fire has yet been determined.
