TAMPA, Fla. — There's an entire treasure trove of Tampa art and history sitting in on Carrolwood woman's living room — and she's now ready to share them with the world.

Art is the bond that keeps Toni Cardoso connected to her late father.  Her dad, Anthony Cardoso, is the artist behind the famed immigrant statue at Centennial Park in Ybor City.  Cardoso was also a painter, and he left behind hundreds of masterpieces when he passed away nearly six years ago.

You can see the family's deep roots in Ybor captured in every stroke of his pencil, and the rich Italian and Hispanic heritage in every brushstroke.

Toni said she's now ready to continue the narrative and is hoping to display her father's masterpieces in spots like Ybor, downtown Tampa, and maybe even the school district where he was an educator for 40 years.

"I would like to see an exhibit perhaps soon and just places where many, many people will have the opportunity to live what I live," she said.

She said it's what her father would have wanted.
