ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Underneath a strong upper level high, we saw triple digit temperatures in North Florida earlier today.

The sea breeze came inland early around Tampa Bay and held some locations in the upper 80s on the beaches for highs. Tampa stayed at 90 most of the day but managed to get to 93 for the high.
Just a little to the east, however, it was 98 at Plant City and 97 at Winter Haven.
Gainesville hit 102 on Memorial Day for their hottest May temperature on record. It was also 100 in Jacksonville and a record for the hottest May temperature ever.
In that hot area region, an isolated thunderstorm managed to form. This strong storm formed around 5 p.m. in Marion County and drifted into Lake and Sumter Counties.
Tonight will be mostly clear with low temperatures in the 70s.
Above-normal temperatures will continue this week.
There will be highs in the mid 90s Tuesday and Wednesday.

Expect higher humidity later this week and a slight chance of showers by Friday.
There are signs some changes could take place by the weekend.
Increasing moisture will lead to slightly better rain chances Saturday and Sunday.
It looks like scattered thunderstorms will be likely from Sunday into Monday and Tuesday of next week with high humidity.
