- REConnections Education Center takes different approach to education
The school is meant to give students with special needs and their families a different way to approach education.
REConnections Education Center Executive Director Joleen Fernald said the school will start out with grades K through 6th and keep the student-to-teacher ratio small. That way, staff can focus on individual children and where they are at with socal and emotional development, knowing how to build on those skills and on academics.
"It's not just one hour of occupational therapy and speech therapy a week. There's therapy infused throughout the entire program," Assistant Director Lilibel Bernhardt said.
REConnections Education Center will hold its first day of class on August 12.
