ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Petersburg police are investigating after a bullet pierced a window at a preschool.
The incident happened just before 3 p.m. Thursday at Allendale United Methodist Church on Haines Road.
No injuries were reported.
The preschool is part of the church, and 11 children were in the classroom at the time. All of the children are two years old.
A total of 44 children attend the preschool.
On Friday, the church announced that it was going forward with a plan to provide complete coverage of their property with security cameras. They also announced their intention to obtain threat assessments from law enforcement and a private security company.
Finally, they invited parents to a meeting on Monday, August 26, in order for them to receive updates and share concerns. Details regarding the meeting can be found on their Facebook page.
The investigation into the origin of the bullet is ongoing.
