WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — No bones about it. A Wesley Chapel couple is showing off their Halloween spirit (pun intended) with a spooky fun front yard display that treats visitors to something new every night.

For being nothing but bones, the skeletons in Bill Patterson and Bob Jarabek's front yard are full of "life."

“We have Ellen and George Bush enjoying a great time at the Dallas - Green Bay game,” said Jarabek.

Today, "Ellen" and "George" were watching and playing football.

Yesterday, they were making pizza.

Last week they were putting out a fire.

Bringing the joy home

Patterson and Jarabek are no strangers to elaborate decorations. They won contests year after year at the Dunkin' Donuts they used to own.

“Halloween was always our number one. We went all out for Halloween, and it boosted our sales but also it gave smiles and joy,” said Patterson.

After selling the franchise, they brought that joy home, creating a new display after dark every night of October.

Each one tells a different story.

“So what I do is start going from room to room and shopping, and we start bringing out our household items and setting up shop,” said Jarabek.

The feeling the displays bring the community, they say, makes the effort non-negotiable.

“It makes me jump up and down," said Patterson. "I want to jump up and down because we like the electricity of somebody receiving our joy and then we receive their joy.”

Sharing the spirit

As for what story they'll tell tomorrow? The two always have tricks up their sleeves, but never fail to deliver a treat.

“We keep it a secret. It keeps the suspense going,” said Jarabek.

“It made me realize that what’s coming out of our spirit is going into other people’s souls. And, of course, skellies are spirits so it seemed to make sense,” said Patterson.
