ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — An upper level ridge of high pressure over Florida to the Bahamas will block any fronts from moving through the area for the work week.
As a result, the summertime weather pattern will be with us into Friday.

Scattered showers and a few storms will end this evening. Overnight will be partly cloudy and warm for this time of year.
Lows will stay in the 70s. Some low clouds or fog will be possible late.
Tuesday will be partly sunny with high clouds around through the day. A few showers and storms will again be possible in the afternoon to early evening.
Showers and storms will move south to north across the area. Highs will be in the upper 80s. A sea breeze is likely near the coast with light prevailing winds.

Scattered afternoon to evening storms will be possible on Wednesday. It will be warm and humid, with highs in the upper 80s. Lows will stay in the 70s.
On Halloween, slightly drier air moves overhead from the east. There still will be a shower or a storm possible that afternoon, but rain chances will be lower.
The next front approaches on Friday. The front will slow down and stall out somewhere over the Florida Peninsula.
We will not cool down until it moves south of the area. It could move through as early as Friday night or as late as Sunday. We will fine-tune that forecast as we get closer.
