BRANDON, Fla. — A fatal shooting at a Brandon apartment complex Wednesday night is now being investigated.

The woman shot died overnight.

Now, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

The shooting happened at 8:30 p.m. at the Westchester Apartments near Westchester Oak Lane and Brandon Boulevard. 

Deputies rushed to the scene after receiving reports of of gunfire. The woman was located and transported to Brandon Hospital, where she later died.
