POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Firefighters in Polk County say they have "significantly reduced in size" the Lasso Lane fire that has been burning for more than a week.
- Fire started November 16 on Lasso Lane
- About 12 million gallons of water dumped on fire

Crews have continued to monitor the fire 24 hours a day, dumping well over 12 million gallons of water on it.
The fire broke out November 16 at the Southern Softwoods, Inc. facility. It is a mulch supply business.
Fire crews say it's not the first time they've had to respond to a fire at the facility, and when they have to come to the plant, they are often out there for days, up to a week.
Polk County Fire Rescue is reminding residents there is still smoke in the area and to use caution when driving by.
