GULFPORT, Fla. — A mother struck an Azalea Middle School student in the back of the head with a taser on Monday because the victim was fighting with her daughters on campus, according to St. Petersburg Police.

Susan Strahsmeier, 42, was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon on school property, child abuse and a violation of probation for criminal mischief charges.
According to a police report, Strahsmeier's daughters were in a fight with multiple students at 5:18 p.m. on school grounds located at 7855 22nd Ave. N. in St. Petersburg.
Police said the mom decided to intervene and struck the student victim in the back of the head with a purple taser.
The victim sustained minor injuries. The incident was captured on video and was witnessed by numerous other students.
Strahsmeier was being held in the Pinellas County Jail without a bond for violating her probation. According to jail records, this was Strahsmeier's eighth arrest since 2006.
Strahsmeier was arrested Tuesday.
