SARASOTA, Fla. — On Thursday, Oak Park School in Sarasota hosted their 2nd Annual Holiday Bazaar. 

This event provides the school's special needs students the opportunity to sell holiday decorations they spent the previous year making themselves, and in the process learn necessary life skills. 

“We care about our students and we want to see them succeed, and be all that they can be,” says teacher Jessica Bucholz.

Some things to know about the event: 

  • The students made hundreds of products, from dog treats to Christmas ornaments 
  • It took students all year to create the decorations 
  • Organizers say students learn skills such as patience and money management. 
  • The event is open to the public Dec 6th at 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
