ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Pete police are still searching for the gunman who shot and killed a St. Pete roofing company employee Monday morning.

Police said 24-year-old Jason Carr was shot and killed while walking into work at Duncan Roofing Company around 6:30 a.m.

Co-workers of Carr's heard the shots and found Carr on the ground as the shooter was running away.  Carr was shot multiple times, police said. 

The area around the roofing company, located at 2570 25th Avenue North, remains shut down. 

Authorities have not received any info on the suspect as of yet and are still working to determine if the shooting was random or targeted.  

No other details have been released and the investigation remains ongoing.
