Low pressure is beginning to develop in the Northern to Northeastern Gulf as an upper level low approaches the Northern Gulf. With the dynamics and the available moisture, showers and storms will develop all across the eastern Gulf late tonight and Sunday.
With this system off to our west, clouds will continue overhead across Florida through Sunday. As this low gets closer to Florida, thunderstorms will be more likely, mainly by Sunday midday into the afternoon. It will not rain all day, but there will be opportunities throughout the day. It will be cloudy and windy with highs staying in the upper 60s.
Some areas might see heavy rain and high rain totals.
Sometime Sunday night into early Monday, there will be a break from the rain, as a cold front sweeps west to east across the area. But the break will not last long.

The upper level low just behind this front will move across Florida on Monday, so low-topped gusty showers will be likely with this overhead. Winds will be gusty out of the west then northwest. Low clouds will be persistent.
On Tuesday the upper low moves off into the Atlantic finally. Low clouds will start moving out. Winds will be out of the north, so cooler air moves in. Highs will only be in the upper 60s. It will be breezy.
Christmas Day will finally have lighter winds. Skies will be partly sunny and highs rebound into the mid 70s.
High temperatures will stay in the 70s into next weekend.
