INDIAN ROCKS BEACH, Fla. — Two people are now recovering from injuries following a crash a strip mall in Indian Rocks Beach.
- Car crashed into Aloha To Go BBQ Saturday evening
- Witnesses say driver hit the gas instead of the brake
- Two customers were injured in the crash
According to authorities, a car crashed into the front the Aloha To Go BBQ restaurant on Gulf Blvd. around 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Indian Shores Police and Pinellas County Fire Rescue responded to the crash and had the area roped off for most of the night.
Witnesses said the driver pulled into the strip mall and hit the gas instead of the brake, crashing into the front of the restaurant and hitting two customers.
Store managers who were there are now counting their blessings.
"We are so grateful that our staff was safe. And we treat our customers like friends and family, and so two members of our family are healing right now and we're just praying for their quick recovery," Manager Susan Flaherty said.
The restaurant posted on their Facebook page after the incident, thanking everyone who came out to help and wishing a speedy recovery to the two customers.
Authorities have not released the conditions of the two injured customers.
