RICHMOND, Ky. — New guidelines are in place at Roy Kidd Stadium this season, Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) athletics announced.

What You Need To Know

  • EKU announces new guidelines for Roy Kidd Stadium

  • Stadium to operate at 20 percent capacity

  • Season, single game tickets available for purchase

  • No tailgating allowed, other guidelines in place

In all outdoor seating areas, Roy Kidd Stadium will allow a capacity of 20 percent, unless evolving information or local, state and national public health developments warrant changes. Box seating will also allow a capacity of 20 percent, or a maximum of 10 people, depending on which is greater. EKU says season ticket holders and students will be accomodated for the season.

While single game tickets are available to purchase, there's a limited availability in the lower sections and open availability in the upper sections of the stadium. All single game ticket purchases will be delivered via phone.

Season tickets, starting at $40, can still be purchased. The Family Plan costs $99, which includes four season tickets for each of the season's four games. Current season ticket holders will receive more specific information soon.

Each ticket will be reserved and have a specific seat number. Single game ticket purchases will be in pods of two or four.

This season will see some familiarity with the EKU marching band, cheerleaders and dance team present at each home game. A number of new regulations, however, will be in place.

Some of the new guidelines for this season include no tailgating in campus parking lots, masks required during the game and in other areas, no shuttle service from the parking lot to the stadium and temperature screenings for all fans and staff before entering the stadium.

There will also be hand sanitization stations set up throughout the stadium, signs to help with social distancing and a cleaning plan for areas such as restrooms and other high-traffic areas.

Other guidelines include:

  • The EKU RV Zone will open at 6 p.m. the night before each home game, and RVs must be in the RV zone by 9 p.m. the night before. Everyone in the RV Zone should observe social distancing and wear face masks;
  • The Colonel Club and general parking will open two hours before kickoff;
  • There will be one point of entry and exit in every space at the venue, such as bathrooms and concessions;
  • Fans and family members of players and staff won't have access to the field at any point before, during or after the game;
  • Physical tickets won't be sold at Roy Kidd Stadium on the day of the game;
  • The Hill will be available only for general ticketing fans and students while social distancing;
  • Up to 1,000 tickets to be reserved for EKU students who can receive one ticker per EKU ID. Tickets will be available for pick up on game day;
  • EKU Stadium Club will be open one hour prior to kick-off, only allowing a minimum number of people in the dining area at one time;
  • Concessions and merchandise points of sale will be open during the game with social distancing regulations; and
  • All gates will be used as a point of entry, and there will be no re-entry upon exiting the venue.

The Colonels will play at home against Houston Baptist Oct. 3, Central Arkansas Oct. 24, Stephen F. Austin Nov. 7 and Western Carolina Nov. 21.
