Spectrum Bay News 9 is committed to sharing stories of diversity and inclusion.

Justice For All targets key issues in Tampa Bay’s Black community in an effort to find solutions.

This summer we told you about a local barbershop offering free haircuts to kids who agree to read to him. In 2018, only 36% of black children in that community passed the reading portion of the FSA compared to 69% of white children, making that barbershop book club even more important.

We’re happy to report a total of 10 barbershops are now offering the same book club!

It may not be a cure all to the reading gaps in this community but it’s a start and a step closer to Justice For All.
