“I've been working with animals all my life and I started this place in 2010 and I had a bird that I could not take to the jungle so I created this place and brought the jungle to my bird,” said Magic Zaksee.

Magic is a life-long animal lover and advocate for rescuing birds, who has created a special place for abused and surrendered parrots.

The sanctuary itself is home to dozens and dozens of birds, ranging from Macaws and Cockatoos to African Greys and other exotic birds.

The mission at the sanctuary is conservation and giving the birds a last forever home. In addition to teaching the general public about these incredible creatures and breaking misconceptions.

“I really have given all my money to help these birds. I bought this spot just for them so they'd have a forever home and made a jungle for them, because everyone likes some animal and I love birds,” Magic added.

The Zaksee Bird Sanctuary is currently open for tours by appointment only.
