VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Central Florida teenager accused of killing his mother in 2018 over bad grades pleaded guilty to first degree murder Wednesday morning.
Investigators's arrest reports say Gregory Ramos, who was 15 at the time, strangled Gail Cleavenger at their DeBary home on November 1 of that year after an argument over his grades.
They said he then used a wheelbarrow to load her body into a van and buried it beneath a fire pit at River City Church.
Ramos faces 45 years in prison when he's sentenced next month. Prosecutors didn't seek the death penalty due to his age.
