SPRING HILL, Fla. — Pasco County authorities continue to investigate a Saturday house fire where a person was found dead.
Crews responded to the fire at a home in the 1700 block of Normandeau Street in the Highland Meadows area near the Pasco-Hernando county line.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, officials do not suspect foul play in the fire.
A Pasco Fire Rescue squad training nearby were first on the scene.
“They made entry into the home and started doing a search as well as fire suppression,” said Pasco Fire Rescue spokesman Corey Dierdorff. “During that search we located one individual inside the home. Firefighters brought that individual outside the home and tried life-saving interventions and unfortunately that person passed away here at the scene.”
Crews were able to rescue a dog from the home.
Officials have not released the name of the person found dead.
