The legally blind, retired educator is a survivor of both a stroke and aneurysm. She said her family serves as her biggest support group but she has a few guardian angels looking out for her as well.

“Wow, I didn’t even know this was my house when I walked in,” said Lee. “This is super!”

Lee won the 2020 Kitchen Giveaway. Spectrum Bay News 9 first covered this story last December when Tim Williams and a group of Polk County vendors told Lee she was the winner.

Thursday, she planned to see her new kitchen for the first time but instead walked into a completely remodeled home.

“Wow, what a blessing! I just can’t hardly believe it,” said Lee’s mom. “Everything that she hoped and wished for, she he got.”

Nearly 50 vendors put their time and resources together to give Lee’s home a breathe of fresh air.

“It’s the hand of the Lord and I appreciate everything so much,” said Lee’s mom.

Williams said that the labor, new appliances, floors, and brand new furniture cost about $45,000.

“I prayed and said God we need to pull a team together to give this woman a new kitchen but it has to come from you, not from me,” said Williams. “So, I picked up the phone and started making calls and everybody said yes.”

Lee and her family said they can never repay Williams and the team of vendors for what they’ve done.

“You’ll never know what this means to me but thank you,” said Lee.

Williams and his team of local vendors search for a new family for their Kitchen Giveaway every year.
