KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A mother is commemorating her son one year after he was gunned down in Osceola County.

Ricardo De Lara, 22, was killed inside his home on Fox Crossing Drive in Kissimmee. On May 16 2020, Kissimmee Police found his front door sprinkled with bullet holes and the home’s glass sliding doors shattered.
Liliana De Lara remembers her son fondly.
“He was a loving person. That was his greatest quality. He was also very bright. And he was on his way to succeed in life,” she said.
The home where the shooting happened is inside the community of Plantation. That community installed security cameras at the entrance after the incident.

The De Lara family has set up the Supreme Scholars foundation on behalf of Ricky. The organization gives out scholarships to aspiring youngsters.
