TAMPA, Fla. - Four years ago, Brady White decided to give diving a try.

Four state meet medals later, Brady will continue his diving journey at Texas Christian University. This Tampa Prep graduate soaks every ounce out of his dive experience.

“You look at the last four years of his development, its just been incredible,” Tampa Prep coach Jason Bowes said.

“To see how far I’ve come in these four years,” Brady said. “I’m really excited to see what happens in the next four years especially at that high level of coaching.”

Brady found his way to the diving board thanks to his older sister’s involvement on the Tampa Prep swim team. And he’s surprised himself every step of the way.

“I swore I would never wear a Speedo and now I’m in a Speedo for more time than I’m not,” he said. “It’s been super surprising to just see how far we’ve come.”

Highlights include a second place finish at the state championships his junior year.

“ I think it’s not just a one time kind of thing,” Bowes said. “I think it’s just years of watching him grow and develop into the man that he is today. You know, and just watching him mature and his development.”

That development will continue. Taking his talents to TCU will help Brady become the diver he knows he can be.

“I feel like I haven’t scratched the surface of where we could be,” Brady said. “So that’s really exciting to be feeling that way going into the highest level of training. So, I’m really, really excited."
