That effort includes the city offering one month of free parking downtown. The first 500 through the door get the vouchers and they can be redeemed any month this year.
Here’s the deal: Show up to City Hall Sunday between 10-3, get vaccinated and walk out with a one month pass for free parking in St. Pete.
St. Pete Deputy Mayor Kanika Tomalin said they’re offering all 3 vaccines, Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson.
She’s hoping the incentive will motivate people to get vaccinated, adding that anyone who hasn’t already gotten the vaccine is eligible.
“We’re getting a great response,” she said. “We’re particularly glad to see people who work downtown, hospitality industry and frontline workers sometimes struggle to find parking to get to work.
“If we can encourage them to get vaccinated and get a parking space for a month while they’re at it, that’s a win-win.”
