TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis is keeping his sights on the Sunshine State, at least for now.

The governor has affirmed that he will run for re-election next year and not for the presidency in 2024.

However, according to our partners at the Tampa Bay Times, the Florida Department of State's Candidate Tracking System shows Governor DeSantis has not filed any of the necessary paperwork to run as an official candidate, despite raising more than $50 million recently.

There are 13 candidates officially in the running right now, including Florida's Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried and U.S. Representative Charlie Crist.
