The Clearwater Marine Aquarium was packed Saturday for the first day of Winter the Dolphin’s Celebration of Life.
Fans like Tiffany Paglia visited to add to the memorial outside the aquarium.
“She was very inspiring. I’m very quiet. She taught me to find my voice,” Paglia said.
Stories like that keep the memorial growing, where folks have been dropping cards, flowers, drawings and letters to remember Winter.
In addition, the aquarium placed flowers and candles outside of Winter’s tank. The tank remains empty for now in her honor.

Winter died last week at the aquarium.
The Clearwater Marine Aquarium's Celebration of Life for Winter began Saturday and runs through Wednesday, November 24.
In remembrance of Winter’s 16 years of life, the aquarium said admission will be reduced to $16.00 this Saturday and Sunday. A portion of all funds go toward the care of rescued and resident animals as well as the aquarium's mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and release marine life.
Along with flower arrangements and visual tributes to Winter, guests can expect increased interaction and a special presentation schedule – all focused on Winter’s life and legacy. Original footage of Winter’s rescue, her life and those she touched through her inspiring story will also be shown in the Dolphin Tale theatre throughout each day.
On Saturday evening, a private memorial will be held for all CMA community partners and elected officials. This event will be live-streamed to the public on WintertheDolphin.com.
For those unable to attend in-person events, the aquarium invites you to join virtually at RememberingWinter.com.
