TAMPA, Fla. – Families from all over the Bay area took part in an 'eggs'-ploration to win gifts and a chance at the grand prize – a staycation sponsored by the Tampa Downtown Partnership.

The Easter egg hunt at Julian B. Lane Park brought together not just those who celebrate the holiday. 

Carlos and Jamie Esobar-Dyer and their twin sons, Gabriel and Sebastian, were in attendance taking part in the Easter festivities. 

The couple said that this is one of the earliest childhood experiences for the 18-month-olds.

"They just started walking not too long ago," said Carlos. 

Their curious minds walked through nature, hunting for the 40,0000 eggs distributed throughout the park. Their parents say with this new season, they have developed a new perspective on life and what matters most. 

"Renewing our mental state of what it's like to be a child again having these boys is amazing," said Jamie. "We got them through the adoption process. It's been amazing to do the things we did as children."

The twins were born at Tampa General Hospital, right in the middle of the pandemic. 

"You know it was the best time for us because everything stopped so we could just focus on raising the boys," said Carlos. 

Both dads are educators who value a sense of community and want to pass that along to their children. 

"It's just nice to be out in the open and be able to enjoy these types of holidays," said Jamie. "It's cool that the community is putting something like this on."
