CLEARWATER, Fla. — In life there are moments when we have to move on. For one St. Pete family, it's time to pass on their business to the next owner.

What You Need To Know

The Burrows own We Rock the Spectrum Clearwater. Inside it has about every fun piece of equipment a kid could dream of to play on and in.

"So pretty much we come down to a functioning OT gym," said We Rock the Spectrum Owner Janet Burrow. "The kids, they just think they are just playing. But they are actually getting the movement that their brains need.”

Burrow looked around with pride, but with a knowing that her time here is coming to an end.

“Every city, every town needs this," she said.

While We Rock the Spectrum is all inclusive and welcomes all kids, it especially helps kids on the autism spectrum and with sensory disorders — kids like Elijah Joustra.

“It’s a scary time. You know, you don’t really know what to expect or what is going to happen, and the amount of support we received the first day, and we continued to receive it, it's become our safe space," said parent Ashley Joustra.

Elijah and other kids find relief here, as do their parents.

“It is relief, it is huge relief, because if he has a tantrum, I don’t have to worry about it," said Ruth Cassell. "I don’t have to worry about the stares. I don’t have to worry about people saying, ‘You can’t control your kid.’ It’s not that.”

Written on the wall are the words, 'This is a place you never have to say I am sorry.' Those words mean a lot to the parents here.

But raising a child with autism is something Burrow knows well.

"So, when Eden was young, there was nowhere for us to go," said Burrow, while looking at her daughter.

Eden is now 14, and has spent her childhood growing up at We Rock the Spectrum. She and her brother, Fischer, both feel safe and accepted there.

"We Rock is so important. The mission is everything," said Burrow. "It can’t, it has to live. But it also, I just have a vision of another mom where I was, with the littles, with just starting the journey of full inclusion and early intervention, and taking this to the next level.”

Ideally the next owner will have a personal connection to kids with neuro-diverse tendencies.

“I know just the right person is out there. I just know it," said Burrow.
