VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A Daytona Beach man is recovering from an apparent shark bite.
According to Volusia County authorities, the 28-year-old man was surfing next to the New Smyrna Jetty Sunday morning when he fell off of his board and was bitten on the left foot, presumably by a shark.
His injuries were not life threatening and he was driven to the hospital by a friend.
He is expected to be okay.
